FAQ – Why Do the Shows Overlap?

Most of our show cycle gets packed into just a few key months: November, December, January, and June. With so many events happening in a short window, across multiple regions, categories, and calendars, some overlap is bound to happen.

We work closely with other regional organizations, brands, and reps to make these months work as smoothly as possible for everyone. But with limited time and space, overlap is sometimes the only option.

But Why?

  • Scheduling is tight:
We’re all trying to fit a lot into a small window — especially in June, when Outdoor Retailer and GOA are two full weeks and the month is framed by Memorial Day and the 4th of July.
  • Territory overlap plays a big role:
We only overlap shows when it won’t significantly affect our members who cover multiple territories:
    • Rocky Mountain & Northwest: little crossover in reps — so overlapping is okay.
    • Northwest & Montana: about 60% rep overlap — so we don’t overlap.
    • Rockies & Intermountain: around 80% rep overlap — also no overlap.
  • Venues are limited:
We book as far out as we can, but there are only so many facilities that can support shows of our size, especially during peak times.

We know it’s not always easy, and we truly appreciate your flexibility, understanding, and communication as we work through these challenges together and find solutions together. We’re committed to doing everything we can to make each season run as smoothly as possible.
