FAQ – Which Show Should I Attend?

We hear this question a lot, and we get it. Choosing where to exhibit or attend can be overwhelming, especially when shows are scheduled close together. Our goal is to make that decision clearer by breaking it down simply:

Why Two Shows?

It comes down to timing and product category cycles:

  • Softgoods (apparel, accessories, lifestyle products) generally have earlier deadlines — most before January 1.
  • Hardgoods (skis, snowboards, bindings, boots) usually aren’t fully sampled until after January 1, with deadlines falling later.
  • Accessories can fall into either category, depending on brand and use.
  • Outdoor & Snowsports categories follow different rhythms, and WWSRA serves both.

Because of these key differences, a single show simply can’t serve everyone’s timeline effectively.

Overview of the Shows

November/December Preview Shows

  • Focus on softgoods, lifestyle, and outdoor products.
  • Ideal for brands with early sampling and deadlines.
  • Open to all categories — if your business fits this timing, you’re welcome to join.

January Winter Shows

  • Historically our longest-running shows.
  • Focus on ski & snowboard hardgoods, snowsports accessories, resort wear, and rentals.
  • Best suited for brands with later samples and deadlines, though open to all.

On-Snow Demos

  • Designed for snow hardgoods and accessories only.
  • Let buyers test product on the mountain.
  • Limited space due to resort restrictions.

Summer Shows

  • Similar to November/December events — broad and inclusive across outdoor and active lifestyle categories.

Which Show Should You Attend?

The honest answer: it depends on your business.

  • You are not required to attend every show.
  • We can’t tell you where you must be, just as we can’t tell a softgoods rep to wait until January or a hardgoods rep to exhibit in December.
  • Talk to your fellow retailers and reps. Listen to what’s happening in your region and category.
  • If you work across multiple categories, you may need to do both shows to cover your bases.

Our shows are a chance to connect with familiar faces, discover new brands, and strengthen industry connections. We’re committed to supporting you however we can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.
